Stix Bones
 

Brooklyn, USA, home to some of the greatest talents the world has ever known; delivers another talented individual whose gift has made him one of the finest musicians in the New York, Tri – State Area. 

Recording Academy Member Stix Bones graduated Purchase College, State University of New York with a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance.  Stix started his career touring with Rahzel The Godfather of Noise (The Roots) in the UK and France and touring the U.S. with 5 time Showtime at the Apollo winner/Author/Poet Jessica Care Moore.  Shortly after Stix became music director for Lyricist Lounge, (A Hip Hop showcase of Rappers, Emcees, DJs, and Graffiti Artists).  Stix collaborated with legendary Hip Hop acts such as De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Q-Tip, Yasin Bey aka Mos Def, Common and Doug E. Fresh.

Stix independently released his first full-length Smooth Jazz album entitled "Groove Like This".  The album has graced the airwaves of more than 40 US Jazz radio stations, including  Jazz internet and satellite stations across the globe. "Groove Like This" has climbed to the top 10 of the Smooth Jazz.com charts, making this one of his major accompishments as an artist.

Stix became the drummer for the internationally known group Soulfege, lead by singer/songwriter Derrick N. Ashong. 

Stix had the privilege of touring the U.S., recording two award winning albums with Soulfege. “Afropolitan” debuted on the Jazz Week World Charts. Shortly after Stix made his mark with his Dance single “Stepping In Those Heels”, that landed him a sync-placement on reality shows such as, "The Real Housewives of Miami" and "I Love Jenni." Stix reconnected with Derrick Ashong, producing music for Derrick's Emmy nominated TV music competition series "Take Back The Mic".

Stix Bones has mesmerized audiences with his band The BONE Squad. The Squad has had the pleasure of being the house band for The Paradise Theater with over 3000+ seats located in The Bronx, NY. While being the house band they have opened for legendary artists; such as, Charlie Wilson, Chaka Khan, SWV, The Ojays, Babyface, Cedric The Entertainer and many more.

Since then The BONE Squad has headlined at venues and festivals which include, The Tin Pan (VA), The Sugar Bar, The Queens County Festival, The Metropolitan Room, The Cutting Room (NYC), Branford On The Green Festival and Jazzy's Cabaret (CT).

His latest release "Breaks From The Soul", is an instrumental album that bridges the gap between Jazz and Hip Hop genres. This album has been in rotation on Music Choice and Infinity's Jazz stations.   "Breaks From The Soul", has been spotlighted by legendary DJ's such as, DJ Rob Swift (The Executioners), DJ Hard Hittin Harry (Wutang Clan), & Dj Jazzy Jay.

Following the phenomenal success of his hip-hop-influenced LP,

Stix Bones is back on the skins once more with his latest release

 "Olimpik Soul". This album proudly introduces Bob Beamon an Olympic Record Holder of the1968 Mexico Olympic Games on percussion. 

Stix Bones has built a respectable name within the music industry. He is truly credited as a Brother Of Noble Excellence.
