Brooklyn, USA, Home to some of the greatest talents the world has ever known delivers another talented individual whose gift has made him one of the finest musicians in the Tri – State Area.

Stix Bones started playing drums at an early in church. He developed a great passion for music listening to Funk and R&B, introduced to him by his older brother. After seeing performances by Brooklyn’s own The Fat Boys featuring Buffy the Human Beat Box, he became influenced to play Hip Hop. Stix jammed with rappers playing beats with his hands on the hood of cars, city bus windows, and tables in the school lunchroom.

Stix’s career direction evolved when he entered college in Westchester, New York. He received a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance. While in school, he gigged with his professors in local restaurants, nursing homes, and elementary schools. Stix often returned to New York City to sit in at jam sessions. Creating a buzz for himself he was called to play open mic sessions and landed his first weekly gig at Indigo Blue with the Teddy B. Quartet.

During Stix’s last year in college he went on a European tour with NYC Poets The Vibe Khameleons. Stix gained great credibility there being the only musician performing with the group. A few months after his return to The States, Stix was introduced to Poetess Jessica Care Moore. Together they toured colleges across the country, performed in major New York City Venues, and featured at the world famous Apollo Theater. Stix continued to show his flexibility and professional skills by accompanying on stage artists such as Doug E. Fresh, De La Soul, Mos Def, The Last Poets, Gil Scott Heron, and Rahzel of the Roots

Producer /Musician Michael Zager gave Stix his first recording session on his compilation album “In the Spirit” which featured Jazz legend Joe Williams. Stix continued to work with Jazz musicians thru out the tri-state area. Stix’s latest effort “Groove Like This” includes the hit singles “Double Jointed” and “The Beginning” are playing on smooth Jazz radio stations across the country, jazz lounges, and broadcasting worldwide thru internet radio.

Stix Bones whose musical influences are a mix of Gospel, Hip Hop and Jazz musicians has built a respectable name amongst Jazz & Hip Hop artist and is credited as one of most talented drummers of our time.
